I am 57 years old and since childhood (do not remember from when) I have been facing a sensitive bladder problem. Feel urge to urinate after every 1-2 hours. Frequency increases in cold temperatures (even after every 10 minutes). The flow is weak (tested at the kidney centre hospital). Have undergone various tests x-rays including IVP. Can you suggest any possible reason.

  • I have had similar problems with my bladder for the past several years. IVP and x-rays were normal, as well as cystoscopy. Have you ever been tested for interstitial cystitis? It is done under anesthesia. Your bladder is filled with fluid to beyond it's capacity. If you have IC, your bladder has lost it's elasticity and will "crack" when over-filled. These are just small cracks called piteceai (sp?). They are diagnostic of either cancer or IC. A good urologist will do a biopsy to rule out cancer, but the most likely diagnosis will be IC if all other tests have been normal. I was diagnosed a few years ago with IC. There's not much that can be done about it, but it helps to know there is some kind of diagnosis and solve the mystery. If you haven't had this testing done, you might want to talk with your urologist about it.Wish you luck!
