Had gall bladder removed 2 years ago but have very little relief from original pain. Lately pain has worsened and doctor said we have to start over again with testing. Pain is in upper right area under rib where gall bladder "was" and I believe it is something to do with liver. Problem seemed to begin 2 years when I took Zetia for high cholesterol. Had a very bad reaction to drug with chest and upper abdomen pain after about a week. Stopped taking, had CAT scan which showed enlarged liver. So much discomfort for months with pain in gall bladder area radiating across stomach into left abdomen and wrapping around back. Dr. finally removed gall bladder but as stated above, not much relief. Had scan to look into pancreas ducts which showed only some fat in pancreas. Has anyone had similar problems after g. bladd. surgery? Something is definitely wrong with persistent pain but sometimes I'll have a day or 2 that is not so bad. Would appreciate input if anyone has any experience or a definite diagnosis from knowledgeable liver specialist.
