I had a bladder operation years ago, my utural tube was to short, so the doctor attach a tube to make up what i was missing, ever since i have had bladder infections, one after another. before the opertion i never had a bladder infection. i am scared to death that this will eventually turn into cancer.

  • this may NOT help, but i used to get repeated bladder infections, till my doctor mentioned 2 things: 1) must bathe daily to keep it super-clean down there; 2) when wiping after going to the bathroom-when you wipe for feces, reach in from the back & wipe it off (which prevents bacteria from being pulled up front where you pee from). this stopped my problem. hopefully THIS is enough to solve your problem  wished i could help more!

  • i to had recuring blader infections! then it got worse as when i woke at night to go to the toilet i couldnt pass urine! extremely painful. I have undiagnosed back problems for the last 11yrs! as well, but three yrs ago i spent 2wks at the national hospital for neurology & neurosurgery. I was seen by a lady called professor fowler, i was diagnosed with fowlers syndrome, which is where the outlet to my bladder doesnt work properly so i retain urine & hence get a lot of infections. I now self catherise 3 times a day! as of yet there is no cure & no reasons why this happens! Maybe this can help you but be aware that if you mention this to your dr he will have to look it up, as it is very rare!

Thank you for your input, but self catherise, is not something i like to do, i hated the nurses doing that to me when i was in the hospital a couple of times.
