My mother is 66 yrs. old. During anytime of her day without cause her nose will become extremely red and freezing cold. It might last a short time or for hours. Could medication cause this?

  • I have had the same symptoms also, gettng worse for the last few years. My nose gets icy cold and red. It definitely happens more when it is cold, but they are definitely "attacks" that can happen in my home when the heat is on. The symptoms have now extended to my top lip and the roof of my mouth -- which will become freezing cold. It also feels slightly swelled - almost like an alergic reactions. It can last a few minutes or hours. I don't believe it is Raynaud's because the symptoms don't seem to match. I do have gastritis (inflamed lining of the stomach). Perhaps it is stress?
