I wanted to update what has happened.I did post this somewhwere along the line. After multriple Drs. and multiple test and multiple antibiotics and creams and Prednisone(and nothing was helping),I finally got in to see the dermatologist. This is the Dr. I needed to see in the first place but I had to wait for an appt. for so long and as each day went by,I got worse.
Just by looking at me,he had 3 ideas right fromt he start. He took a biopsy(big one) from my arm(not my legs because they are too bad and were not healing, biopsy would have made it all worse)
I have erythema nodosum and pyroderma grangrenosum. Both are treated with the same type of drug.Dapsone and folic acid. I have only been on it for 3 days.I get another blood test next week and then back to derm. Dr. on Dec. 3rd.
If I could have seen the dermatologist right from the start, I never would have had to suffer so long, since it got worse every day since before Sept. 18. I just wanted to let everyone know. OH!
I also wanted to mention,I also have ulcerative colitis. Skin issues go hand in hand with UC. I had no idea.(I have other autoimmune issues too)
