My daughter recently had a pulmonary valve replacement and the operation was a success. I was told that a sample of the tissue valve was sent to the lab for testing at the time the surgery. This was done as routine. 5 days later the sample had grown bugs later said to be Candida. She then had blood cultures done and these test are not complete as yet. Could you give me some more information on this as I'm finding it very difficult to get any information from the hospital.
