We just had to hospitalize Mom a couple months after agressive breast cancer treatment inlcuding mastectomy, chemo, radiation, and now oral hormonal therapies. I the past week she became completely delusional, unable to tell the difference between old memories and the present, and thinks all medicine is a waste of time. She nor my family have any real history of mental problems, but she is just not there anymore. Has anyone heard of a syndrome or something similar to the above story. We are scared to death, she is getting what we believe to be fine treatment, but I wanted to hear from others to double check on the "been there, done that" side of the medical world. Please write back if you know anything. Thank you.

  • I'm sorry to hear about your mum. How far in the treatment is she? I chemo and radiation finished? How old is she? Is this a sudden change or has it come gradually?
