I went to the doctor just a few months ago with lower back pain that starts in the early morning along with stiffness and pain in my legs and feet that will get so bad I can hardly walk. I have a left arm that has now lost its strenght aches. My red blood count is low and I have a low immune system. For yrs I have had many kidney problems and problems with my digestive system and I'm taking the purple pill. LOL I have been taking Tylenol PM's for over 14 yrs so I can fall asleep. I was put on steriods (prednisone 10 mg a day) for about 3 months, had good days and bad days. When I went back to the doctors for a check up and more blood work they said it has gotten worse not better and to start 40 mg a day with the prednisone and to call a Rheumatologist and make an appoint. soon!! I did and I'm waiting to go. Anyone have any info on this disease? Please help. I have gone off the prednisone and I have gained so much weight and was already a large woman. I'm so depressed over this constant pain in my legs is the worst part of this!!

  • It may be a stage of Lyme disease. A regular rheumy doc will probably not believe this or even look into it. Regular testing will not show it much. Use the Bowen lab for accurate testing. You may be able to access a Lyme Literate Doc at www.lymenet.org

  • Point I am trying to make is that regular docs and hospitals have and do tests that are NOT accurate. This is a very serious point. They do not know what they are talking about. Most traditional docs blew off Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue for a number of years and some still say it does not exist ! If you are serious about finding if Lyme may really be the cause, go towww.lymenet.com and find a doc in your area that knows how to accurately test for Lyme and then get tested. It is the only way to really know.

  • My mother has had PMR for 16 years and has been well controlled on high doses of prednisone, which over time have been reduced. Her quality of life would have been ZERO if she had not taken the prednisone. Weight was a problem at first but she lost a lot of weight by following a NO FAT HIGH FIBRE HIGH WATER DIeT AND REDUCING HER INTAKE OF BREAD.
