  • Although I'm not male, I can see why you'd be freaking. Keep in mind that the majority of lumps found in breasts (even in men) are harmless. It could be an inflamed lymph node or cyst or something like that. Have they done any xrays or ultrasounds on your chest and breasts? Do your doctors have any suspicions as to what it could be? Two years ago I had a lump and they just had me come in every 3 months to keep an eye on it (it was really really tiny) and January 2008 they finally diagnosed it as an inflamed lymph node - but that was two years of OH MY GOD! LOL So I know what you're feeling right now and it's hard not knowing what's in your own body. Just hang in there and let keep on top of appointments so that they can watch the area for changes. Also make sure to note any changes with your breast such as discharge from the nipple, soreness, redness, etc as these can help your doctors pinpoint what the lump could be. Do self exams frequently, but not too frequently. Checking the lump on a daily basis may prevent you from feeling changes if there are any. Just every couple of weeks or so, check the lump and make any notes as far as size, is it hard or soft, etc. I hope that helps a little - I'll keep you in my thoughts.
