I'm getting to the end of my rope. I was dx'd with obstructive sleep apnea and was put on cpap. Cpap did not work, so I was given a bipap, which did not stop the apneas I had all night either. So I gave up on both and now it's going untreated. Last year I developed a problem where I would wake up out of a sound sleep blacking out with my heart pounding out of my chest, esp. when I am having rem sleep. In addition, I developed a whooshing noise in my right ear that keeps time with my heartbeat. I would like to mention that I had a carotid doppler, which was clean. Often, I will hear the whooshing and have a feeling of pressure in my neck/head while I'm lying down or when I have my head turned a certain way. I'm wondering if it's all somehow related to the sleep apnea. I have developed severe insomnia because of all this and I haven't slept well in almost 7 days, so I'm really scared. The tiredness during the day is debilitating. I'm just wondering if sleep apnea can affect a person's blood pressure to where she would have these types of symptoms. If anyone has any thoughts on this, I'd appreciate it. Thanx much.:confused:Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
