At this point, my infelicitous situation can get better or altogether collapse. My girlfriend and I have engaged in a serious relationship as of January 13th. We have known each other for some time before that, but the problem lies in the fact that she has been sick after we first kissed. This is just after January 1st. She has had a throat problems consisting of probable laryngitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, and or strep. She has taken Antibiotics, but the problem has recurred every time. I have not been sick at all in the past 4 months, which presents the probability that I may be a carrier of what is perturbing her. I do ask, in a very pleading manner, that I receive information on what it is precisely that can be done about this. If I am the cause or if it is something strange that she could be going through. In other words, if I am a carrier of her disease, what should I do? Why I ask is because she has recently been recovering to a very satisfactory condition. She believes it is a direct result from not having seen each other in 1 week’s time, and counting. And we are afraid that if we see each other soon, she may get sick again. I want to make sure that the next time we see each other, she won’t get sick from me. If she does, our relationship may terminate. I am using as many resources as possible to gather as much information as to what can be done so I may therefore submit myself to the solution and make sure I am not the cause of her sickness and therefore saving our relationship. We love each other very much, and she cannot continue to be sick. Please help me

  • Hi Charlie,Go and get some blood work done and get your throat scraped for strep/staph and other viruses, gonorreah, syphilis, hiv blood tests. Do what you have to do. If she has had a sore throat then you have it but don't seem to have any symptoms. I kind of agree with her, but it's strange that you don't have any signs. Instead of being afraid and staying away from each other, do, indeed, get the blood work done so you two can get back together. You would be proving to her that you care and are willing to go the extra mile for your relationship. If your bloodwork all comes back negative, then her immune system is stress.

  • If your bloodwork all comes back negative,. I appreciate this very much. I will immediately schedule an appointment and see to it that I recieve more answers. You mention if my my blood work is negative, then its her immune system. Suppose it came back positive? What should we do then? Do we wait it out, or do I have to treat myself? Recently, I have noticed that there is more mucous/flem in my throat than there should be, as I must clear my throat every 10 minutes or so to breathe correctly, is this an indicator that I too have strep? And if so, why is it that it doesnt hurt me, but its killing her? I thank you very much for your time, we are both very worried about this because we are very much in love and this would be a very stupid but very real reason to stop seeing each other. Alternatively, the removal of either one's tonsils could be an option. Is this a valid solution in the event that I am a carrier? Charlie

Charlie Hi Charlie, I used to have chronic toncilitis followed by chronic strep when the toncils were removed. However, I was sick a lot and knew I carried this stuff. What finally let me recover was 4,000 mg of vitamin C per day. THis was before I discovered my other nutritional deficiencies. However, the vit C helped a lot very quickly. Like your girlfriend it kept coming back despite anitbiotics. Good luck.

  • Wow. My stepdaughter had the same symptoms and ended up with rotting tonsils which were removed. She doesn't seem to want to take responsibility for her nutritional deficiencies, but she *fought* this for almost a year. I did have her doing some natural remedies which were helping - until she stopped using them. I spent my life fighting off tonsilitis, strep, sore throats, sinus infections and it wasn't until I was diagnosed with food allergies that these *illnesses* stopped. Of course, getting diagnosed took over 25 years and a Naturopath. First Naturopath I came to *fixed* me within 10 days. Twenty five years of MD's did nothing but take my money. What's funny is when people say, *Well, I was fine yesterday!* or "I've never had a problem with it before". Well, usually something works Just Fine until it doesn't, then there's an issue. Allergies come and go with immune system strengths and weaknesses which are caused from diet, emotional stability and happiness/stress, all of which feed off of each other. If you are stressing about your girlfriends illness, of course you are going to show signs of this. I like Freddd's advice of the vitamin C. Zinc is another wonderful thing, and if you could handle it (as well as co-workers, school mates, friends, family, etc), and your girlfriend too, a RAW clove of garlic a day for about 3 days, all the onions you can eat and LOTS of breath mints!!! I would like to mention to all readers of my posts in that I do have a habit of rambling on and on due to my passion for natural healing, health and all that is involved in the human BeInG. I appreciate those who bear with and accept.

We love each other very much, and she cannot continue to be sick. Please help me CharlieI'm not anyone but I'll help. :) I'd get a doc to check you for infections to rule them out. Throat culture should rule out strep throat. Never jump to conclusions. Maybe it isn't your fault. Keep you hands and nails clean, use an anseptic mouth wash, use dial antibacterial. Get adequate sleep, eat enough, get checked by medical for infections. Decrease your stress as much as possible, take your vitamines and for heaven sakes don't assume you are making her sick until you know for certain. Do you know if she has anything that may suppress her immune system like AIDs or something like that? Do not assume you are to blame until it has been confirmed by medical. It's the worst thing you can do. It makes you worry and then you don't get adequate sleep or eat enough and you get sick because you worry too much when maybe it isn't your fault. Two things are evident you seem to care about her and you worry too much dude. Both of you encounter disease causing things every day yet normally your immune system fights it off unless it's compromised by a disease or you are under stress. Life is stressful enough without blaming yourself for something that might not even be your fault. You are giving yourself two headaches for the price of one when you don't even know for certain that it's you that is the cause of the problem.

I'd say use peroxide as a mouth wash but make certain you spit all of it and rinse with water spitting that out too. Let it rest on yer throat back for as long as you can. It works just about as good as an antibiotic. If yer possitive the doctor will decide what the best course of treatment is for you in his opinion. If it doesn't work or you do not feel comfortable with your doctor then find a different doctor. Dude you sound like you are sick whether you are causing your girlfriend's problems is not the biggest problem right now. Your biggest problem is getting well. Why not use IM to talk to each other for a bit so you can still hang out but it won't make her sick. You should get her tested for a crummy immune system at this point and get someone to check her for the tonsil stuff too just to rule it out or rule it in. It will give you some idea what you are up against. Which beats not knowing what it is and what to do about it.

  • Probably nothing to do w/you giving any illness to her. Are you sure she isn't just trying to keep you away?....haAnyway when I first met my husband he seemed to be sick w/a cold all the time. We often avoided lip contact for this reason ( I just thought he didn't want to kiss me) Anyway years later after our marriage he said because I was a nurse that he thought I was bringing home germs that made him sick , I thought he was getting sick from visiting a lot w/his relatives who had kids around who always seemed to have the sniffles. We now appear to never have colds and are around the kids a lot so , go figure.
