I have had it for about 4 months now and it is worse than ever.I've had Patellar Tendonitis for two years now. There's a lot of general junk out there that usually tells you what to do at the onset. But it is not an easy ailment to cure. Everyone's biomechanics are different, and depending on the initial injury, the treatment will vary. But the underlying basics are this:It is not going to go away, no matter how much you follow RICE. This will have to be an active process- keep exercising, but avoid bending and overloading activities that aggravate your injury. You will need to slowly build up strength and tolerance so that various muscle groups can help support your knees. Most importantly, if you can go two full days after a workout without pain or swelling, then your exercise level is adequate. If not, you are overloading your knees and worsening your injury. There is no quick fix for this one. It can take more than six months to fix this with real diligence and hard work. You may want to see a PT to help you with exercises and to keep you motivated. Good luck.
