Overgrowth of bad bacteria

I hope someone can give some input on this. My obgyn prescribed metro gel(flagyl) after my colposcopy results came back as chronic inflammation. After using the metrogel i found it caused more irritation. I went back to the dr and she looked at a sample of my vaginal fluids under the microscope. She said it wasnt yeast but an overgrowth of bad bacteria. She didnt say what kind of bacteria. She precribed doxycycline which can be used to treat certain bacteria infections. She also told me to douch with a tablespoon of baking soda and distilled water. Since taking the doxycyline i still feel slightly itchy and some discommfort at times. Its not a horrible and unbareable itch but it comes and goes. I dont have an abnormal discharge or any kind of odor. I do take rephresh pro-b as a preventative method for yeast and bacteria.Has anyone had this happen and what should i do??
