I started to get severe pain in the lower right side of my abdomen, just under my appendix scar which I had removed 19 years ago. It is difficult to move my bowels and my whole belly seems big and sore. I went to the doctor and he thinks is some sort of intestine infection from something I have eaten, so he has given me antibiotics, he Also sent me to have an ultrasound done, they found a 3.5cm ovarian cyst. I had cysts before and they disappeared and did not cause pain except during the periods.I feel like I have to go to urinate quite often, My lower back aches, specially the right kidney, is it possible that such a small cyst can cause this pain? And all of these symptoms?

  • I have just been diagnosed with an ovarian cyst on the left side of 5cm diameter. I have had symptoms for many years including painful urination and difficult and painful bowel movements but have only ever been given antibiotics for suspected infections. I have recently started to feel aching pains in my right flank, lower back and right leg. I too am wondering if all these things are associated as it seems strange that the cyst is in the left ovary and I am getting symptoms in my right side. Currently waiting for blood test.
