Odd medical mystery! Am I alone?

I am a 30 year old female. I have a weird medical mystery and I am just wondering if I am a freak or if this happens to other people. I seem to drain batteries. I know it sounds weird but it's true. This has happened to me since I was a kid. I can wear watches for only a day or 2 then the battery dies. Every digital camera I use, I can usually only get 5 pictures or so before the battery crashes. Yet my husband can use the same camera and batteries and get over 100 pictures. Anything battery operated in our bedroom dies within 48 hours.

Also, if I get really stressed light bulbs pop and blow out. (Planning our wedding, I went through at least 5 light bulbs a day!) My husband thinks it's cool and loves to tell people about it. I hate it and I wish I could just be normal. The look people give me makes me feel like I'm a freak! And no I'm not a witch or practice voodoo or anything like that. (That's usually the common question)

I am used to being the medical minority. I am also color blind, so I am in the 3 percent female color blind population. Which for some reason makes everyone ask me what color shirt do they have on?

Anyway, Has anybody every heard of this? What causes it and could I make it stop?
Not the color blindnesshttp://kona.kontera.com/javascript/lib/imgs/grey_loader.gif
, my electrical issues.
Thanks!

  • Your not a freak, it actually sounds like you have extra senses possibly. Its similar to a psychic power.Ive had several similar episodes, although not as extreme as yours. Sometimes when I walk past lights they get brighter or dimmer. Ive had 3 light bulbs explode when Im near them. Ive also had several psychic experiences. Try to concentrate on it more and meditate about it, tell people about it and try to figure this thing out. Im sure there are some people that know more about this.I forgot exactly what its called that you and I have, but it has something to do with electricity/electromagnetic fields, and psychic powers. No, thats not a joke, this is a real thing. It can be looked at as a gift or a curse, but some people do have it.

  • Wow! I had no idea that condition even existed. Yeah, I'm the exact opposite! I affect electrical items, they don't affect me. That would be really hard living with EHS in this day and age, with all of this technology all around us. I don't know if being around me would help you or hurt you. I'm a Nebraska girl, maybe we could run a test and see? :rolleyes:What's weird is I took that Electrical Hypersensitivity questionnaire at the end of this website.(http://www.ei-resource.org/illness-information/related-conditions/electrical-sensitivity-&-hypersensitivity/)And I scored a 36. Although I have been having some neurological problems that the docs are trying to it figure out. So that could have a lot to do with the high number.Who knows.

  • HelpinOhio,It's weird that you mentioned psychic ability and this electrical issue are related. I do have recurrent dreams about something happening, and then it happens. But this only happens with my dreams that reoccur night after night for a few days. Which only usually happens once every few months or so. So I really didn't consider it to be a psychic ability. I have only told my mom and my husband about this, because I don't want anymore freak attention than I'm already getting.Well, but I am glad that I'm not alone. My doctor said that he's heard of it, but it's so uncommon that he doesn't remember the name. (His electronics go on the fritz when I walk in, then go normal again after I leave)It's not a life threatening condition it's just bothersome and I was wondering if someone knew how to control it.I hate it when I ask to borrow my friend's cell phone, (because mine is dead AGAIN!) they say, "Make it a short call, I don't have my charger with me." Or my family says, "Don't hug Grandpa, he has a pacemaker." It really makes me feel like an outcast. But I guess over the years I have kind of gotten used to it.Thanks Blaze and HelpinOhio for making me feel like this isn't so unusual.

  • Irishluck628,I think you should try and look more into this. The dream thing that you speak of, Ive also had episodes of that. Ive had dreams that have actually occurred in real life, it could be anywhere from days or even up to years (one case) after I had the dream and it will happen. Ive also had dreams of places that I later learned actually existed, but I had never been there before in my life.Ill try to look it up to see what its called again. If you go on some of the online psychic forums communities, they have people who experience these same things on there. It is related to psychic powers and extra senses. We do exist, but Ive never met another person face to face like this, so it is pretty rare. It seems like you effect electrical devices more extremely than I do. I still havent figured out exactly what it is, but Im trying to. Im going to look up more about this, but keep me posted.
