I am in the UK, and am undergoing tests at the moment on the NHS. My problem is that I have been given an appointment with the consultant 1 month after my next test. This will make that consultation after the "18 weeks" that the government promote as being the "maximum time" you will wait from referral to *treatement*:
There are a few "acceptable" reasons (their words) why it may not be 18 weeks, none of them valid in my case. I have complained to the consultant to no avail so far. I will be writing to the chief exec of the trust next, but wondered if anyone could point me to some actual legislation I can mention, or has anyone been in a similar position and complained to somebody else to expedite their case?
