i am suffering from a multitude of different symtoms. two years ago i started having numbness/pins and needles inmy left foot, left hand and left side of face. the numbness in my left leg started a few weeks earlier gradually getting worse. well the day i had the numbness everywhere i went to the doc. after reviewing my history noting that i had 3 thoracic fractures and mild brain injury 15 years earlier the doc started looking in that area. i was told after several mri's, ct scans and x-rays that i had disc bulge in the lumber spine and brain mri's showed the folling: multifocal nonspecific flair punctuate white matter hyperintensities involving the left centrum semiovale and bilateral anterior temporal pervinticular white matter. chronic right basil ganglia lacunar infarct. the doc than guessed the numbness in my leg was from the bulge in my lumbar spine . the other symptoms was from a post concussion syndrome. this does not explain the now near constant numbness in my leg and arm. it gets better for a few weeks than for no reason gets bad for weeks at a time. during these flair ups i get blurred vision, shakes, fatigue, forgetfullness, disorientation, chronic pain in my neck and upper spine to include burning n needles, weekness, and i limp favoring my left leg. i have since seen several docs and they all say we don't see much wrong, than send me home. when i take hot showers and or in the sun my symptoms worsen. when i lay down at night whatever part of me touches the bed or pillow goes numb. oh yeah my blood pressure is perfect,no diabeties, and all blood test come back normal. i am 6 ft 155 pounds, spent 15 years in the army so i am physically fit or was untill this started. if this sounds famaliar or if you have suggestions please help.

  • Since your arm is also involved, you should have an MRI of your cervical spine as well. A cervical spine disc herniation could cause these symptoms. I have been going through some of the same symptoms for the last six months, and I have finally found out that I have a severe herniated disc in my neck, and I will probably need surgery. I hope this helps you.

  • I can relate. Find a good neurologist after you get an MRI with contrast of your cervical spine. If the first neuro doesn't help you, find another one. I have had neck surgery from a ruptured disc with nerve involvement. My first symptoms were loss of feeling in three fingers. Then I had back pain from my spine to my shoulder, and, finally severe pain that brought me to tears. I didn't sleep for days on end and nothing but IB profun helped the pain.It hurt so bad I thought I had bone cancer.. So, before it gets that bad, get some help for yourself
