I have had chronic neck pain for many years. In the last 3 years i have developed migraines. Every doctor i have been to has told me it is stress, and that i need to relax. I take 2 anti-depressants, migraine meds, muscle relaxers, allergy meds, and now an anti-inflammitory. While all of these things do help, nothing seems to get rid of my problems. I have also recently developed skin problems. I have tiny red spots all over my body, and some other spots that resemble eczema but they don't itch. I also get swelling on the right side of my neck just under my jaw. When the pain and swelling is bad there is a lot of pressure in my neck and head, and i end up with a migraine. i am also very fatigued most days, and i am urinating much more frequently than normal. my doctors think i am a depressed hypochondriac. I can't seem to convince anyone that i really do feel like something is wrong. I sometimes get a tingle in my cheek near my mouth, and i am always uncomfortable when i am trying to sleep. My wrists and fingers ache, and i have trouble writing because i can't put much pressure on the pen. When i move my neck it makes a crunching sound, and cracks. I always feel stiff in the morning, and i have trouble sleeping most nights. I don't want to go back to my doctor because all she does is give me another medication, or she tells me i just need to lose weight and exercise. i have tried to do both, but i tire out frequently from excercise, and i can't seem to lose weight. As a matter of fact, i am currently at my prior full term pregnancy weight. I have been to many doctors and i am out of ideas...

Come on over to http://forums.wrongdiagnosis.com/showthread.php?p=87840&posted=1#post87840 and introduce yourself and repost your message there. I think much of what you read will be very familiar.

I hate that doctors don't listen and think we make this up and when they can't figure out what you have they say it's fibromyalgia. I am sorry that you are going through all this I am too. However My doctor has send me to a nurologist he is the only one that I haven't seen yet. I have been to every other type of specialist. I can only think of telling you to get another opinion. Go to see a new doctor and don't tell them that your old one thinks your a hypocondriact because most doctors are all alike they will just say in their heads the other doctor is probably right. Tell them that you have seen a previous one but you didn't feel as though they examined the problem thoroughly and needed a second opinion.I do hope you find help because I use to feel like what is the point of living if all you feel is pain.Kisses Tracey...

  • Hi tiredandfrustrated. I have many symptoms you have. Are you 40-50? If so, I think it is hormone related. I have suffered many of these samethings progressively since 40. I'm not sure why you need muscle relaxers if they don't seem to be helping. I have been taking Omega 3 Flax seed and Magnesium, getting exercise by walking briskly and then stretching, and recently flushing out my sinuses as I have discovered I have allergies. Often my headaches are from this I'm quite certain. Also sleeping in an improper position can be contributing to many things you have suggested regarding the wrist and finger pain and neck pain. I also have a pregnant looking belly and am at my full term weight. It is so hard. Even eating less and exercising my scale doesn't budge! So, I don't think it is a treatable disease but part of a hormonal disfunction and part of aging and all we can do is manage it and try our own therapies. Hydrotherapy may help. That is simply showering with hot then cold then hot then cold water. The muscles contract and expand. I've thought of getting a sauna as I've heard it can help. Having depressed symptoms we can really get stuck focused on what isn't working and therefore are robbed of our joy. I hope you will try to push through it all as I am. Just try to live as healthy as you can and don't focus on it. You aren't alone. Thank you for your post so that I know what I am also struggling is shared by others.I have had chronic neck pain for many years. In the last 3 years i have developed migraines. • Wow. I am 28 years old, and I have very similar issues. I am overweight, but can't seem to lose it - and I am now the same weight I was 9 months pregnant. I have had severe neck pain for many years, and I have been getting Migraines since 1999 (note: I was not overweight from 1999-2001, or from 2004-2005...had my son in 2006). I also started getting tingling feelings in my arms and hands a few years ago. I have a lot of trouble sleeping - I can't get comfortable when I'm going to bed...I toss and turn constantly.I have seen every Specialist I can think of (Neurologist, Rheumatologist, Chiropractor, etc.)...all I have been diagnosed with is Fibromyalgia and Migraines. I have had MRI's, CT scans, X-rays, EMG's, blood work for everything - including all tick-borne diseases, etc. I have tried a ton of different prescriptions - none even dented my pain. I take Imitrex for my Migraines, which helps. I have high cholesterol, so I take Fish Oil pills for that. Why can't anyone figure out what this is - and not blame it on being overweight or not exercising enough - or Fibromyalgia???

Hi ivorycassiopeia, I had severe neck pain and headaches for decades thanks to b12 deficiency. Fibromyalgia appears to be a specific manifestations of deficiencies of both active b12s plus some other things. We have figured it out. Come on over to the b12 deficiency forum I listed a few posts above. Sleep disorders, tingling arms and hands also b12 deficiency. We have a list of about 300 symptoms and I had 185 of them at one time. You can get educated about it and repair the damage and get rid of all those symptoms.

  • Why can't anyone figure out what this is - and not blame it on being overweight or not exercising enough - or Fibromyalgia???Its easy to translate. When you cant figure out, blame it on something else which is obvious. Unfortunately you still have to pay for the office visit.

Hi PArjuna, Why can't anyone figure out what this is - and not blame it on being overweight or not exercising enough - or Fibromyalgia?? I have figured it out. That's just the point. I have healed and recovered. I suffered extreme neck pain for 25 years or more. My neck had reverse curvature becasue the tight muscles pulled it into that. The fatigue was over whelming for 16 years. Now all that is normal. I know what I did and why. If you have these things come give what we have found a try. Many are succeeding in healing. After healing has progressed exercise is much easier because it doesn't cause all that pain. This is not a shot in the dark post made to everybody with a mysterious disorder like some. This is also easily testable. You can know in a month if these the things we suggest will make a difference. Why keep complaining when you are given a possibly correct answer without even trying it out? The only mystery here is why the docs have ignored this so long and obstinately refused to recognize it.

In most cases they can be done. I suffered a lot in the past but in last 8 years I never visited an MD, Dentist, or taken any pill. Now I am 61 and heal many people using my hands for many ailments. Send me an e-mail to PArjuna85210@yahoo.com. I shall forward you a couple of e-mails with photos which will explain what I am saying.Good Luck..Garla Arjuna.
