In 2001 I had a bowel resection for colong cancer with no problems. In 2004 I was diagnosed with adhesions and had surgery for their removal. During the surgery, I was found to have reoccuring colon cancer and some lymph nodes were removed. During the surgery, the pelvic bundle of nerves were severed and as a result, my colon no longer has any muscle contractions. Thats right, I have no bowel movements unless I take Mag Citrate laxative. I am on pain meds, because the pain is terrible and feels as if, I have a gut full of pins and hot peppers. I can no longer work,, I am now disabled and all of my doctors tell me there is no surgery to repair my colon and no hope for the near future. My colon cancer has spread to my lung, but because I had bowel obstructions from my previous chemotherapy, the oncologist is hesitant to give me more chemo. It might totally wipe out the remainder of my digestive system. I didnt sue the doctors, I understand mistakes are made. but my life is no longer worth living on most days. Has anyone ever heard of this before?Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
