My 9 month old son has been diagnosed with croup, followed by an ear infection, then roseolla and now he has fifths disease. All of these things are fairly minor, however these have all been diagnosed in the last three weeks and I am concerned that he may have something more serious wrong with him. My doctor says as long as he is getting better in normal time he is fine. Any advice?

  • Croup seems harder on the parents...it's awful, huh??? His immune system seems a bit stressed out now. Have the doctor keep close tabs on him and if he doesn't fully recover, then I would ask for further tests.

  • Ear infections and croup tend to go hand in hand. He should be fine! Hope things settle down soon... Kiera

  • Thanks for yor responses. Last night he woke up in the night with a really plugged nose and a cough. i called the dr today, still waiting for him to call back. I know all of these illnesses are really not a big deal i am just concerned with the time frame. That's a lot of sick for three and a half weeks! thanks again for your support and i will post again when something changes!

You live in a very clean place, you have indoor plumbling, hot water- really, where are all those infections coming from? and why is his immune system so weak? There is plenty of research out there blaming vacccines and antibiotics for these kind of persisting patterns.Question everything, trust yourself! Let those mother instincts work within reason- real reason, not mainstream 'common sense'. You know your child. My best advice is taking your child to a NAET practitioner. There are tons of baby boards dealing with NAET.Read reviews, ask questions, this might help.Sincerely,Frui.

  • In addition to NAET or Bioset, which I also recommend, I want to recommend Homeopathy. I have been using homeopathic products on both my kids, ages 5 and 2 1/2, since they were little babies. Get a good book on homeopathy and read about this noninvasive, nondrug form of medicine. I kicked out my son's croup in less than 12 hours using a combo of homeopathic remedies (I prefer Hylands as they dissolve easily). Homeopathy is so effective for children - please look into this as it is easy to get the remedies at a good healthfood store. Pulsatilla is one remedy I always have on hand, as it is for runny nose with yellow phlegm and when your child is "clingy" and needs lots of comfort when sick. I love this remedy and have recommended it to many other moms I know. Getting a good book is key, as you need to fit the remedy to the individual. Sorry I don't have the names of my books as I am not currently at home, but if you google or visit a good book store you should have a few to choose from. Best wishesDOM
