I am a 45 year old male
I have been suffering from these episodes for the last 15 years.
I will describe the last three episodes to make the picture clear .I was relatively well for the last three months. I had to go on a long drive of 5 to 7 hours
I reached the destination in fine shape but after sleeping over night I developed pain and swelling in my left knee and lower leg. The temp of the overlying skin was increased.
The excruciating pain on movement persisted for the next 4 to 5 days and then slowly subsided. The next episode involving the muscles around scapula (left) started after
A few days and involved extremely painful muscle spasms. This episode also persisted for 4 to 5 days. The next episode involved the inner part of the thigh and involved painful muscle spasms and pain on movement. I checked my CP and ESR, rheumatoid factor, CRP during these episodes and found them to be normal.
I have been suffering from these episodes of pain in muscles, articular and periarticular tissues for the last 15 years. Now a day they tend to last longer then previously
I have checked my ANA, Rheumatoid factor, Full blood count, CPK on a number of occasions and found them to be normal. Only the C reactive protein was raised on one occasion.
Between these episodes I am fine and can exercise and do other physical activities.
I am not hypertensive or diabetic and do not smoke or drink.
There is no rheumatologic family history of note except age related osteoarthritis in my mother.
