This is a case I would like to dicuss. This is a one month old baby born to a 29 year old healthy mother , normal delivery, term, shoulder distocia at the time of delivery; the apgar was 8 and 9 and the birth weight 4.2 kgs; no other problems. diascan alt birth 54mg and the oxigen saturation was from 95 to 97 at all times in room air in all four limbs
The baby is being breastfed normally, put on almost 2 pounds in a month time. However the breathing of the baby has always been a little bit of a problem : respiratory rate flutuating from 56 to 64 per minute plus the ritmic movement of the head with the breathing As if he was having respiratory distress . No retractions of the chest, the lungs are heart are normal to auscultation and the distal saturation is normal( four limbs). Achrocyanosis when cold, never had respiratory distress, no sweating when feeding or distressed. No noisy breathing
The Physical examination is unremarkable.
Please Can anyone tell me more about that breathing problem what that breathing could be, and how to proceed. could it be considered normal?
