(I originally posted this in the wrong section - sorry for any confusion)
hello,
I'm new to these boards ( i found the site by accident about an hour ago).
I've posted on another site but haven't found it very helpful.

About 4 months ago i noticed that i had a couple of moles growing on my stomach and breast (they were pale pink in colour) around the same time i noticed a painful tingling sensation on my back in a couple of areas.

This has been worrying me for a while, but i don't want to waste my GP's time.

The two moles on my front have now increased in size and changed from pink to a dark brown, the areas that tingle on my back are the areas that have new moles developing.

I'm worried but again don't want to waste the gp's time.
has anyone got any advice or similair experiences?
I really would be very grateful.
Thanks in advance!

  • good advice, Blaze....we can't biopsy those for you..you are not wasting a GPs time...and they will just send you to a dermatologist so you might as well schedule the appointment with a dermatologist in the first place.

  • Yes definately good advice......I had melanoma when i was 11yrs old in 1971, school nurse noticed it luckly, 2 on chest 3 on back, crusty, bleeding & irregular in shape, the biggest one was a bit larger than top of pencil, others a bit smaller.......when removed they where bigger under the skin so quite large wounds, the biggest about 3 inchs long & 3/4 inch wide. Back in the 1970's here it was not widely known, so only for school nurse things would have be different ! Got all clear & discharged at 16yrs old. Point is they can be lethal if left alone so keep watch for changes. My daughters where removed straight away based on my history. The skin is the biggest organ of the body, so u cant be carefull enough !

  • Thankyou for your advice! Just a bit daunting...but i'll make an appointment. Again, many thanks! Dont worry about them...........uve noticed them, which is good. U'll get them checked & if theyre not overly worried about them, just watch out for more changes. Dont stress, i know many people that have these & theyre ok, only know one other person myself, that didnt take notice of them & unfortuantely by the time he did go about it it was too late.......his was near his ankle & he thought it was his sock that was rubbing on it causing the changes.....but that was many years ago. Now we are all so aware of these things. Im now 47yrs old, so apart from him & myself theyre the only two out of all the people ive met over the years that had a real problem with them. My daughters where only removed based on my history, hers showed no signs of any changes ! So again i say......Dont Worry ! u will be Fine !
