I Had Infectious Mononucleosis During 1968 While Stationed In Germany. I Spent 30 Days In The Us Army Hospital In Nurnberg. 4 Months Later I Went To Vietnam & Served As A Bulldozer Operator On Jungle Clearing Missions. Ever Since I Got Home From Vietnam I Have Constantly Had Long Bouts Of Weakness Throughout My Body & Joint Pain (especially In My Knees & Ankles). In 2001 I Started Going To The Va For Treatment Of My Depression, Anxiety, Etc. & Was Eventually Diagnosed With Ptsd. I Am Now 100% Disabled By Ptsd & Unable To Work. I Have Been On Many Anti-depressants & Anti-neuroleptics Since I Started Using The Va. Last Summer I Started Displaying Tremors, Mouth/tongue Facial Movements, Swallowing Problems, Loss Of Memory/concentration, Balance Problems & Inability To Choose Appropriate Words During Conversations. I Was Diagnosed With Tardive Dyskinesia Due To Taking Abilify (aripiprazole) By My Va Psychiatrist & 2 Va Neurologists. My Symptoms Are Finally Subsiding But In The Mean Time Something Else Arose. The Symptoms Include Blue Spots On My Toes, Neuropathy In My Feet, Severe Knee Pain, Pain In My Hip Bones, Rash/itching Around My Nosetip & Upper Cheeks, And Tightness Around My Chest (feels Like A Tight Inner Tube Has Been Inflated To The Max). I've Been Tested For Reynauds Phenomenon, Lyme Disease, Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, & Genetic Disorders. Twice The Lupus Screens Have Come Back Positive... So I Guess I Have Some Form Of Lupus. Here Are The Questions I Would Like To Get Answered: (1) Can Infectious Mononucleosis Cause Lupus, Some 40 Years Later?; (2) Could My Tardive Dyskinesia Have Weakened My Immune System In Order For Lupus To Invade My Body?; (3) Can Someone Help Me Get In Touch With A Specialist Or Researcher That Can Help Me Understand What In The ***l Has Happened To Me? For Years My Wife, Mom, Kids & Peripheral Family Members Have Thought I Was A Hypochondriac Or Shirker Because It Has Been Hard For Me To Work Because I Felt Physically Exhausted Most Of The Time. I've Always Had Low Self-esteem Because Of What People Thought Of Me. Guess I've Shown Them That I'm No Faker, Huh?
