Last month I was having sore throats nearly everyday and I noticed one day my hair was beginning to fall out. I have a large spot about the size of a half dollar on top of my head now where I'm completely missing hair. I went to a doctor and they said they thought the hair was stress related and that prehaps I had mono to explain the constant sore throat.
A nurse called me and said "You have Mono" and they treated me with steroids.
I've been experiencing severe chills where my body temperature will drop to around 95-96 degrees and then the next day it will spike to 103 about once a week.
I called the office where I had been seen and they said that I only had the antibodies for mono and that it was suspicous. They couldn't be sure that's what the problem was. So I'm starting to see a new doctor and we're both stumped. I think my hair problem is related, but I'm not sure. It just happened at the same time as everything else. Any thoughts?
I've had a full work up on labs and everything's come back okay.
