massive mood swings

Hi, Im 31 years old, I have two young children, and I am having awful mood swings. I am guessing it's hormonal as they come and go throughout the month. Its just that they seem so much more sever than anything Ive experienced before, I am rageful, and i do this weird thing where I have to shake my hands hard and pull horrid faces. I am taking this out on my 5 year old daughter in particular, and its breaking my heart. I went to the doctor but she just recommended vitamins, without doing any tests. However I don't think I properly conveyed the gravity of it, and didn't mention the hand and face weirdness at all. I was embarrassed I guess.

  • You've probably already explored the probability that your mood swings are bi-polar related. I would still recommend examining and charting your mood swings with the help of bi-polar guidelines and questionnaires, and then consult with a qualified MD on the subject to further pin down the cause for your mood swings: be it diet, psychological, or physical related.I urge you to be very proactive for your children's welfare. Good luck, from someone who knows
