I was hospitalized for intestinal blockage. Two operations, then pneumonia then mrsa(sp) Almost died, respirator, feeding tube. Drug induced coma. Family called in. 31 days in ICU, total 81 days.
Home rehab, had to learn to walk again. About 18 months later I started coughing up copious amounts of phlegm, particularly starting after I woke up. Dr. ordered an X-Ray. Big white cloud in right lung, less in left. Then Dr. called and wanted me in for a c-scan. When it was finished they asked me into a small room, when they came back everyone was masked up. "This is not good!" They diagnosed Tuberculosis. Total of 16 days in wired glass, alarmed quarantine room. They thought I contacted the disease in Mexico and was therefore a drug dealer?? They finally sent me home masked at all times, tested all my close relatives. Then after another week or so they called and said the CDC tested positive for MAC was not TB. Anyway, no progress after almost 2 years and many drugs. Any ideas???
