Hi - I am a lupus patient and am in remission now after having received 14 pulses of cyclophosphamide (cytoxan), a breast cancer chemotherapy. I felt as though the quality of my life was very limited after the treatment technically put me into remission. Quantitatively I appeared disease-free (my lab work was fairly normal), but, clinically, I was very fatigued and experienced tremendous joint and muscle pain. It wasn't until I began eating a whole-foods based diet and a specialized, joint-friendly exercise routine I developed using my background in mechanical engineering that I regained my energy, vitality, strength, and health.

Has anyone else experienced such a dramatic, happy turnaround?

  • I was diagnosed with lupus over 15 years ago, at the age of 16. I'll be honest, I've never heard of anyone with true 'genetic' lupus being cured or ending up in remission. I was wondering what type of lupus and what strain you had? Very pleased for you though as I am all too aware of what a nasty illness this is and how it can interfere with your life.
