I recently had a severe bout of Urticaria (hives). I had it particularly severely on my legs and one of the symptoms of urticaria is swelling. The hives have now gone but I am left with the swelling. It starts just above my ankle and finishes just below the knee and I have it on both legs. My legs are itchy and alternate between hot and cold, particularly along my shins which can also be painful. The Doctor gave me a diuretic which I am loathe to take as all the symptoms disappear during the night. When I wake in the morning my legs are back to normal but by lunchtime the swelling is back along with the itching and burning. I have also developed an intermittant tingling in my left foot. The tingling lasts for about two seconds with a three second gap but when I put my weight on my foot the tingling goes. If I lift my foot and tap it on the ground I can bring on the tingling sensation. Think of a tuning fork. My blood pressure is spot on and my doctor tells me I have the heart of a twenty year old (I'm 47). My doctor doesn't really have any idea and puts it down to growing old.
