for the pass two years I have been in battle with my body. my legs are so heavy, stiffness, hip pain. sharp electrical feelings down my legs. my muscles spasm so bad at night, hard to get any sleep. I have gone to the dr's it is hard for a diagnosis because I have no insurance. A few months back I woke up with my left arm so stiff, that my hands are in a claw position it takes me a while just to get out of bed. no matter how much I hurt I have four beautiful children, with the help of my husband. it is so hard a faustrating going through. this. and not understanding why? I don't give up on my faith. the love of my children and husband is what keeps me going on, to face any challenges that I go through. any suggestions to what this might be?

  • Just an opinion here but it might be worth the money to have a MRI of the Lumbar Spine done. Yes, the MRI is expensive but it could give vital info about what is going on. The electrical feelings could be a "pinched" nerve, where the nerve is being compromised by swelling, mis-alignment or other spinal problems (bulging disc, etc). Often sciatica produces the symptoms you descibe, however it generally runs it's course in 90 days or so unless it continues to be aggravated. Spinal stenosis could also be the culprit. Spinal stenosis is a narrowing of the spinal canal whereas the spinal cord relaxes into the canal and is constricted until it regain the proper alignment. This can cause tingling, pain, stiffness, pain in the hips and back and even the claw like feeling of your hands. (Sorry if this sounds silly.... I'm trying to descibe it in terminology that is easy to understand) If lack of insurance is a problem and you can't find a physician or medical center that will treat you, try a chiropractor. That might be a cheaper but helpful solution at least a starting point. Worry about your health and not knowing what is wrong only adds to your pain.Good Luck:)
