Please help! I am a teenager, and I am a competitive swimmer. I began having knee pain in July of 2013. The knee pain went away, but it soon came back. There has been continuous knee pain now for about 4 months. The first doctor I went to took x-rays, and told me it was bursitis, and told me to go to 6 weeks of physical therapy. After those 6 weeks passed, the knee pain was worse. The PT referred me to another doctor, who had an MRI taken. The MRI showed a severe bone bruise. This doctor put me on crutches for 6 weeks and I was told not to swim anymore. The knee is not getting any better, and when I went back he gave me four more weeks on crutches. I am allowed to swim now. After getting back in the water, my knee pain has gotten worse and began to swell again. Does anybody have any ideas why it is doing this? I am in excruciating pain, and am going back in for an MRI, but do not know what else to do. Has anybody been in this same situation?Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
