Hi, I'm 19 years old and have been having kidney pains since I was 16. The first time I ever felt them hurt I went to the emergency room because the pain was so intense.. i was vomiting and seizing up. They said they found small kidney stones and 'lesions', or scar tissue, in the LEFT kidney when all the pain was in the right side. That was a bit confusing for everyone. I've always had UTI's, ever since I was a small child. I was given some antibiotics and told everything should be better. Well, the pain never stopped. It always comes and goes. I was sent to a kidney specialist where they did several things, one checked the flow of my urine to make sure everything was emptying out properly and my ureters looked right, etc. I'm not sure of the name of that, but they inserted a catheter and everything. Horrible. The same day I had an IVP. Nothing of interest turned up and it was dismissed. I recently went to the doctor again because of really bad pains and the desire to know what the ***l's going on!!, and he shrugged it off and said I'm probably feeling back pain due to exercise, like a stitch. The urine test came back with nothing abnormal. No infections. To me this is unbelievable, I know it's not merely back pains, my right kidney was even tender and swollen when I went to the kidney specialist. I am soo tired of not being able to know what's going on! I think the doctors need to explore every possibility before they toss it out and shrug their shoulders. I read so many other stories on here describing the same exact things I'm going through, and it seems no one can find an answer. And here I am, 19, entering college, with no med. insurance, no answers, and these horrible pains that come and go. And I'm terrified. They say don't give up until you get the answer, but I'm ready to give up. I dont think there are any answers. :(Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
