rachesc: I am a 22 year old female. I first caught a cold with a fever, then when I sneezed I would be on the floor with pain on my right side and was constantly crying. I finally went to the ER and was there all day doing tests. The technician who did the catscan called the surgeon and said she indeed has a Intussusception and the surgeon said no way, and they admitted me to the hospital to watch me, It reacurred and they had to do surgery to remove 5 1/2 inches of my small intestines. I stayed in the hospital for about ten days.
The doctors thought that it couldn't be first because it was really rare for my age and second because it is usually found in very young children and babies.

  • A cat scan revealed that I have intussuseption, and they are doing more tests to see the extent of it. Is it possible, that I can live with this without ever having an attack or surgery? I'm really nervous about this.Did the surgery hurt alot?Thank you.Nervous in Boston
