Since August 2006 my stomach has had an intense pain and noisy bowel movements. It's now July 2007 and the symptoms have only gotten worse. Today (7/1) I spent lying on the floor writhing in pain. When I went and saw my doctor, she says it's just food poisoning. If it was food poisoning wouldn't it be gone by now??? What's wrong with me?????????

  • It's probably IBS IIrritable Bowel Syndrome). Nothing to worry about but it can be very painful. In my case it has totally spoiled my life over the past 8 years. Have it checked out by a docter if it doesn't disappear by itself.

  • It may be a condition Doctor's are quick to label IIrritable Bowel Syndrome, or IBS. It could be Colitis or Chrohn's. The best way to find out for sure is to go to your doctor and ask for a ColonOstopy. A specialist performs this test. Ask your doctor for things you can do to limit the discomfort you are having, like certain foods that may add to the flare ups..ect. Staying away from dairy foods may help a great deal. Mona:)

  • Before resorting to a colonoscopy I would get a full stool exam done and test for the following: clostridium difficile (you have to ask for this specifically)candidae coligiarrdiaother parasites and bacteria Please get a full stool test done and see if anything comes up. Mona is correct - food intolerances can play a huge role in digestive problems and you can get them at any time in your life. Where exactly do you experience your pain? Around your belly button, above or below? More on one side? Does the pain move around or is it in a fixed location? Get yourself a good quality PROBIOTIC and also try taking digestive enzymes before eating and see if your symptoms improve. Lastly, get another doctor as the one you have is not diagnosing correctly or doing the appropriate tests. Consider trying a more holistic approach to your illness - it may really help.
