I really need some advice on this one- if anyone can help or point me in the right direction I would be really really grateful!
OK, this problem has been going on for about 3 years now. I feel like it controls my life and also feel like I have tried to do everything I can to stop it.
The problem is: my big stomach.
Its not fat, (I don't think all of it is fat anyway!) it is too firm to be fat, almost like I have grown my stomach outwards- but it protrudes so much that daily I get asked if I am pregent, not just by complete strangers, but also by friends and even family. It really hurts as I used to have the eating disorder anorexia and although am a very healthy weight now, there are still things that hurt alot. (indirectly my weight seems to have gone up alot- far faster then anyone medical- or I, could have predicted. But I do go to the gym 5 days a week, and do alot of cario (10-15 hours a week, hard cardio according to my heart rate monitor).
Basicly, its not easy to pinch it. But also, I don't really think its bloating either as its not tight or very painful.
It began about 3 years ago when it all started. Doctors did a pregnancy scan (even though there is no chance) which showed up negative. Nothing there- ultra scan showed nothing. They tested my blood, nothing in the general tests. Then they decided it was IBS. I do not think it is IBS, I do not have any of the other symptoms of IBS and after looking at how IBS works, I really do not think I have it, I never get any spasms for example.
I do get alot of gas, there seems to be no end to it! I now chew gum, but its only in the last 6 months I began to do this- before then I never used to chew gum and still have the same problem.
I do not eat carbs (hang over with my eating disorder) when I say carbs I mean sugar, wheat, pasta, rice, bread, potatos... etc. But I do eat fruit and veg. Plain and cooked via a steamer. I eat protein via lean meat. I am actually a little to scared to eat any different types of food incase it makes this stomach thing worse.
If anyone has any advice, please let me know! At the moment I get through about 40 deflatine tablets a week (expensive) which don't stop the stomach/pregnancy look but do help with the gas side of things- surely there has to be something wrong here- my GP seems to think unless it gets proven as I am fatally ill, then I should just ignore it. Unfortunetly I am unable to do this when every single day I get asked if I am expecting, and despite being told no, they say "you look 6 months gone, are you 100% sure?"
