Im 26 year old Female, mother of 3 beautiful children. Ever since I got pregnant with my 1st child I have had reoccurring UTI's. They normally put me on keflex and the next follow up I had it was back.. over and over again, same story. Starting in July 2008 I started having a lot of pain near my rib cage & after i urinated I continued to fell pressure as if I had to continue to go. I went to the ER and I had 2 sever Kidney infections. They put me on antiabiotics but noting got better. I have been to the hospital 8 times since July 2008. They have done regular catscans, catscans with dye, ultrasounds, xrays etc... I have been on Keflex, Cipro, Amoxicillian, Penacillin, Bactrim and Levoquin. My pain never goes away nor does the infection. Now it is to the point that my urine smells like raw rotten chicken.

I wont use the restroom unless there is air freshener or if someone is in there, It has completely ruined my sex life and now the pain is so bad that It hurts when I breathe, Walk, Sleep etc. I have loosing sleep to the point that I have actually fell asleep while driving and hit the guard rail.

Anyone have any ideas or information on what could possible be wrong with me? I feel like by the time they figure out what is wrong with me it will be to late and my Kidneys will be to damaged and i will need a transplant.:confused::confused:

My Symptoms are:

pain under rib cage to the touch
weight gain
I don't urinate for than 3x per day

  • I have medullary sponge kidney disease. I have thousands of kidneys stones in both kidneys and am infected with the disease bilaterally. I have the pain and the constant infections. They have recently told me that my left kidney is dying. My breath smells awful and my urine smells awful. You should have an introvenous pyelogram if they have not done one already. I was diagnosed at 17 and that is unusual as it usually does not show up until later in life. Good luck.

Mine is caused by kidney stones in the left kidney. I have told fellow suffers about a wonderful cure for this condition, one stone at a time. When I feel another stone becoming a problem (when I am in such pain that I can hardly stand up) I start immediately to drink apple juice. Of course, I continue to drink water as well. I drink as much of both as I can stand, though my stomach really wants nothing. Apparently, a particular acid in the apple juice softens the barbs on the stone, allowing it to continue through the ureter and on out of the body. After about five or six days of mostly apple juice and water, and once my temperature is within the normal range and pain has subsided, one can mix 1/2 cup of olive oil and 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice, drink the concoction, go to bed shortly thereafter, lie on the side that is troubling you, and in the morning the stone should have passed. Several days of pain, to be sure, but a natural way to get rid of stones. It has worked SEVERAL times for me. It is reputed to also work on gall stones.
