I'm thinking about seeking legal advice.

I have been very unhealthy. Over the past four months, it has gotten much worse.

The last few times I have gotten sinus infections or colds that normally should last 3-7 days, I suffer with them for three weeks or more at a time.
My hands and feet are almost always cold and my hands shake and tremble. I was put on antibiotics once over the past year, and unexplainably turned completely yellow with dark circles under my eyes, which the doctor would not tell me why and simply discontinued them.

When I fell and cut myself skating in August, I have still had the scab/ wound until now, and it didn't finally stop splitting open again until about a month ago.

I also have severe acne, and I have not gotten a period since March. They often skipped before this time, too, but never for this long.

Finally I could not stand it anymore and went to the doctor, telling them these symptoms.

I SPECIFICALLY asked for my hormones to be tested because of the acne and lack of periods, and to check for reasons why I would be staying sick so long and not healing normally.

I told her I knew for absolute fact I was not pregnant, have never EVER been with a male, have never been in any possible situation where I could get pregnant.

She had a nurse come in and give me a blood test that day, and told me to come back later in the week for some type of ultrasound.

Well, I went in for the ultrasound at the appointed time, and the technician claimed she could not see what she was supposed to. Then she stuck a camera in my vagina, and it was EXTREMELY painful. she pushed it sideways on both sides. She apoligized and said "sorry, I don't really know what I'm doing." I was in pain from this procedure for a week.

A week later, I was called back and informed I had to come BACK in because the nurse ordered the wrong blood test, and I had to be stuck again.

I went back in for the blood test and had it done. I was told they were going to call my house with test results.

I waited two weeks with no call from the facility at all. I had to call them myself and the receptionist claimed she called and talked to me already. she did not. Then she was very vague with my ultrasound results and told me I should consult a gynecologist. When I questioned her she finally said "The ultrasound was essentially normal." Then she said the ultrasound would be sent to my home. It never was. She said the blood results were not in yet, and they would call back again when they got them, which would be by the 24th.

It's been another week, no call at all. I left a message on their answering service and they haven't even replied/called back to that.

Then, today, I open up my mail, and what do I get?
A bill from this medical center charging me $101.42 for seemingly unnecessary and possibly illegal tests that I did NOT ask for.
A bill, when I never even got any results from these tests.

They tested me for: "Collect venous blood venipuncture", "Urinalysis Non automated W/scope", "URINE PREGNANCY TEST".

Those are the only tests they ran, and I did not authorize or ask for a pregnancy test.

I'm wondering, is this illegal? I did not give them any reason or permission to check for pregnancy. And I don't think they even tested my hormones.

In the meantime, I'm feeling progressively colder/shakier. Diabetes runs in my family, too.

Someone could be very ill and they don't seem to care anough to give them results, just the bill!?

I really need some help/advice! PLEASE!

  • Also, along with the trembling in my hands, they often feel very sore, especially in the morning, and when at rest curl completely inwards. It feels kind of like arthritis? But I don't know if that's possible since I'm only 20. Here is my personal habits/history if it helps:I have never drank alcoholic beverages. I have been exposed to second-hand smoke since birth, but have never smoked myself. I eat regularly and mainly very healthy, almost never fast food. I drink a lot of tea, especially green and mint tea. I take a calcium tablet every day as I don't drink milk, and a multiple every other day. I take acidophilus when I'm having a yeast problem. Sometimes when I'm really stressed out from college I take a B complex + zinc vitamin. I was always sickly as a child, with no real explanation from doctors as to why (constant viruses, Upper respiratory infections, and sore throats). I was put under for surgery when I was 4 years old to have some sort of growths removed from my throat. I do have seasonal allergies, for which I take Allergra for in the spring and sometimes early fall. I have never been pregnant.I'm 20, female. I've only had one sexual partner in my life, who was a female. When I used to have periods, they were very heavy and painful, and have almost always been sporadic. I seem to have serious hormonal issues. That's all I can think of.Edit: And I'm 5'4 and a half, 120-124 pounds. I try to exercise at least thirty minutes a day, four/five times a week. I don't have much muscle tone, but not too much fat either. Average.

  • That doctor was an ******e. Report her to the medical board. You have a right to go in and ask for copies of the untrasound pathology report and a copy of the blood work. Tell them you are coming by tomorrow for your copies. They do not charge, either. Go see a lawyer and see what he says. They usually don't charge. The person who gave you the ultrasound also needs to be reported to the facility. Anyone who says they don't know what they are doing should not be doing the test. File letters of complaints.Your condition, well...let's get your heart checked out and get checked for diabetes. You should/could have an ultrasound of your neck...so, change doctors and ask for those tests, along with a cbc.
