I am being misdiagnosed

I am 71, and 6 mos. ago had heart valve replacement. Recently I developed bloating in my stomach and fluid in my legs and am now quite hoarse when I talk and am short of breath when I walk even a short distance. I am on lots of medicine and I have been told to just "tough it out" and walk on my treadmill. The sac around my heart was cut and I was told it wasn't replaced, but that it would heal eventually. I had a pig replacement valve so I am not on blood thinner. Something is badly wrong; would appreciate your help.

  • I would find another doctor quick. Sounds like you are retaining fluid and that could have number of potential causes. Kidney, liver, heart and possible allergies to the very meds they docs put you on. Don't let them tell you to 'tough it out' it means they don't really know what wrong to begin with.
