Have anyone ever heard of HTLV and if so could you tell me about it - and what it does to your body??

When I was getting my hip replace in Sept. 2000 - I gave up my own blood and the red cross contact me and told me I had HTLV and Hep. C - which Hep. C did not bother me until recent. I have notice I've been very tired and don't want to do anything any more all I want to do is sleep and stay in bed.:( I went to the doctors and they took blood work and said that I am really amenia - so I was thinking maybe one of these diease may be causing me to feel this way. (Like Hep. C) does anyone have any information on this

I will be waiting to hear from any one - Please!!!!

  • Joyous,The best treatment so far for HTLV is Vidaza (Azacytidine), which apparently cured a patient in Greece after 8 months. Just as Hepatitis C will require treatment, HTLV should also be treated, otherwise it can result in paralysis and cancer. Most doctors are in the dark about HTLV, so you may have to find someone willing to treat HTLV like it is a serious health hazard.Best wishes.
