Hi, I am a 54 yr old woman who has a recent history of Herpes simplex encephalitis - I also have type 2 diabeties, asthma and history of a mild stroke - the clot from which is firmly lodged in my brain.
I have just spent seven weeks in hospital with raised blood counts showing infection, very painful swollen joints, fever and nausea - although tests confirmed these symtoms (ct suggested a small bleed at front of brain) the only diagnosis was that the encephalitis had reutrned but not in such an aggressive way - I was transferred from a general medical ward to a regional neurological one to be discharged twenty four hours later with the diagnosis of acute anxiety and referral to psychology. I am disturbed about this - since I returned home I have since developed acute excessive sweating, constant fever and vomiting, general weakness and loss of appitite. I am afraid to return to neurologist bearing in mind he was adament I was a time waster - is it possible I have suffered another small stroke - I was not aware I had had the previous one until CT showed evidence of same. I feel really ill just nowe and don't know what to do.
