59 year old female, went through menopause about 5-6 years ago with hot flashes and was on Premarin about 2 years with effect then stopped. No further symptoms until about 2 years ago when developed severe abdominal pain/nausea/weight loss and a different kind of "flush" - starting in the abdomen with a pressure/discomfort/sick feeling then intense heat and pressure up into head and neck with pinkish colour change. Totally different than previous episodes. 5HIAA's have been above normal (the highest at 271, above 50 diagnostic). Went back on Premarin for a year with no effect but an endocriine oncologist told me this week it is still menopause ! and wants to put me back on Estrogen. I'm really confused ! Wouldn't he want to do some other tests to confirm ? What about the high 5HIAA ? and other GI symptoms ? Have also had 2 recent severe "histamine releases" (911 to emerg), something never before experienced.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
