Does anyone have ideas as to what might cause hip pain? I am a 50-year old woman who began having hip pain in December 2006. It started as pain that would hurt when I had been sitting for a period of time. When I got up to walk around it would hurt but seem to feel better the more I moved. However, it has now progressed to a throbbing/aching pain when sitting or sleeping which is very uncomfortable. It is difficult to sleep on my right side. I also think I feel a lump in my hip that is not on the other side. Once I begin to walk around it feels better. In addition, I also have some discomfort in the kidney area. Any ideas?????
