In mid-Feb I herniated two lower discs. It's been an ongoing issues; oral steroids, pt, RX anti-inflammatories and a spinal injection on the left side a few weeks ago. On sunday I woke up unable to sit up, sit or walk without major assistance...I scream in pain when doing it. I went to the ER yesterday and they gave me percocet and valium to take home(I was already on Tramadol) and valium and morphine at the hospital. They wanted to admit me, but I was having another lumbar epi today on the left side, they decided it would be best just to let me go home and rest. None of the meds they gave even touched the pain I was in.
I had my injection today and usually I have a day of relief...not today; it's still a 10 on a scale of 1-10. What do I do? I know it take 3-5 days to feel anything on the injection, but seeing that I didn't even get the day of relief, I'm scared. What do I do? Do I go back to the hospital? Call my orthopedic? Get a second opinion? After months of extreme chronic pain and not having an MRI since Feb, I'm wondering if maybe something more has happened.
Any advice is appreciated, I am desperate.
