*sighs*........Ok here goes....Me and My husband got married on Aug, 14th 2004. I got a new job working at Ace Cash Express ok......one night while I was closing the store...I got really bad pains in ma stomach so I went to the restroom and passed some huge blood clots.....I have never passed blood clots since I have had my period.....My mom and godmother took me to the hospital but the doctor says that I am not having one...they told me to give them a urine sample and when I went to the restroom i passed a huge clot that looked like an embryo in it's beginning stages.....I went to an OBGYN and the doc told me that he did not see any signs of me having a miscarriage and told me that I needed to regulate my period with birth control pills....But I do not believe in birth control pills......ever since then I have been bleeding off and on since that time......sometimes it's bright blood and sometimes it's dark blood and most of the time It has clots....Now I'm passing clots again and I think I might be having another one...at this time I do not have insurance and I'm scared...I believe I had a miscarriage and Ma aunt told me that I needed to have a D & C......What should I do? Please help...any suggestions would be helpful!!!

  • I'm 54 now, but when I had periods, for most of my life, I had clotty periods...not always, but I heard my grandmother had it bad like that, too. Perhaps it's hereditary. I didn't die but it sure was a pain in the butt to deal with. Good luck with it. Hope you can find the answers you're looking for.

  • I would get tested for a condition called Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. This is especially true if you have had any of the following symptoms. irregular periods, weight gain starting after puberty, infertility, facial hair or darkened patches on the skin or skin tags. I have this condition and went from doctor to doctor to get treatment. It is also something that you will get ignored or ridiculed about especially if you are overweight since people may think that you are making this up because you are overweight and dont want to do anything about it. My mother in law and grandmother are like this even after I have gotten treatment since obesity is seen as a social or willpower problem and not a medical problem. Simple blood tests will diagnose and there are medications that will treat it. I went through a horrible bleeding episode like you have discribed and ended up in the hospital. My grandfather was sure that I had a miscarriage and was very upset with me since I was not married at the time.

  • Thank u so much guys for responding to this...I will defintely look into it and see if it hereditary.....and u are right un registered....Ma mom and grandmother think it is because I am overweight....*sighs*......and they tell me all the time that I just need to lose some weight and everything will be fine. :( Ma mom is a LVN but she hasn't praticed in a while but she keeps her license current since she has been sick. So who knows maybe she is right and maybe she isn't......I will find out soon though.....Once again, thanks for the replies!!!!!
