Here's what I'm experiencing:

Pneumonia (almost 6 weeks now, on antibiotics)
Rash on fingers
Fingers swollen and joints are soar
Decreased appetite

Possibilities I've been told as a cause:

Lupus (tested negative)
Just a rash w/pneumonia at same time
Legionnaire's Disease

Any other ideas are much appreciated.

  • Sounds a little like Rheumatoid Arthritis. Are your white and red blood cell counts normal? This would account for the joint ache and swelling. If your immune system is attacking itself it can cause other symptoms. If your WBC is not within normal range it could increase the risk of infection. This would allow for the Pneumonia. The rash however doesn't fit. Could be a coincidence.People with RA tend to have decreased appetites.
