I have been going to see a Gastro Dr. for about 1 1/2 years and they have done all the test they claim that are possible and still can not find anything wrong with me. I can not eat because I get really bad stomach cramps and within 45 minutes to an hour I have to go to the bathroom because I get diarrhea, I have lost weight and I am frustrated. My wife ask my doctor to do a colonoscopy and they decided to do this procedure only to find a carcinoide tumor in the lower wall of my rectum. Well they took this out and said it was cancer but they did remove all of it. I still feel the same but now my joints are starting to hurt so bad that some days I can not even get out of bed. They still have not ever taken a stool sample, I am no doctor but I know how I feel and I know something is not right. The last test my doctor did was the Pill cam and he left me a message and said everything was OK, so now what - I still can not eat and I still have the cramping, my joints hurt, have constant diarrhea, headaches, occasional vomiting and some blood in stool. HELP!!!:o

  • This sounds so much like the symptoms I had right before being diagnosed with Crohn's disease. That was in 1995, and I still have very severe symptoms almost on an every day basis, although this is not typical for other patients I have talked to and read about. The treatment they started me out on was taking prednisone, Imuran and Asacol, this helped out very well at first because I had lost so much weight and was very weak. The prednisone made me feel like I was starving to death and I ate all the time it seemed like. This drug and the Imuran also makes you very susceptible to infections though, so you have to be extremely careful about being around people who are sick.. I hope maybe this helps you out. The new drug that I am on now is called Iliad and seems to be helping me now. This is nice if it does because this will be the only medicine that I will have to take if it does. Good Luck to another Texas native.
