My name is Kacey.
I am 18 years old, and I am a burn survivor of one year and three months. For the last four months or so I have been experiencing strange heart problems.
When they first started, I didn't think much of it. It was a random pause in the heart beat, then my heart slammed, and beat very rapidly for about two minutes. It began happening more and more frequently, at times up to four times a week.
Within the last two weeks, it feels as if my heart has begun to develop another strange problem. Now, when my heart pauses, it pauses for the count of three seconds, slams, pauses for another three seconds, slams again, and proceeds in this order for about two or three minutes at a time.
Another development is chest pain at night. When I relax in bed at night, I lose my voice, and I have mild chest pain. And, yet another problem is night sweats. I have woken up nearly every night drenched in sweat.
I would like to say that this is all stress related, but I experience these problems now at random, even when there is no activity.
I have ignored this problem thinking that it would go away, or at least lighten, but it seems that this is getting worse very quickly.
I want an honest opinion before I seek out a doctor.
