  • Yes you should; it sounds like herpes 2. They will need to do blood work for it but most std clinics don't. I think Planned Parenthood does the blood work. You need to get a pap to rule out HPV and blood work for syphilis, too.

If you have freshly shaved and have skin to skin contact with somebody you can pick up all sorts of minor skin infections or even flesheating bacteria type. If a person has little infected bumps, you can pick it up very easily. What do you use to shave with, wet? electric? what brands? With the grain or against the grain. Also, shaving can dry out your skin. Moisturize the entire shaved area. Give me the details and I can give you some tips.

  • Don't listen to them. You have it on your stomach, and you don't shave your stomach. Yes, you can have herpes --it likes to travel to the tummy and buttocks, thighs--but most std clinics don't do blood work for it. Treat it as if it is herpes and when you are able to get blood work...go for it...Planned Parenthood should do the blood work on a sliding scale, so try to find them. Most people don't have all of the facts about herpes. If I got "zits' on occasion, I would get a blood test for herpes 2. Doctors make such casual statements about what a lump or bump is and don't go the extra mile and run that blood test to confirm one way or the other. You could have herpes for 5 years without any symtoms and then, bam....an outbreak...it's a very strange virus. Be sure so if you do have it, you inform your partners and don't spread it. It could be nothing, but it could be life altering. Get the facts.
