In August of 2006, I broke my foot in three places riding my horse. I was in a coompression cast for 10 days, a wheelchair for a week and a cast for 6 weeks. I then had to wear a boot for 3 weeks. A week after being out of the cast, it got stepped on. I immediately knew that it was broke due to the burning feeling I felt. I went to the doctor that afternoon and it was x-rayed. I was told that it wasn't broke. I wore a boot until it quit hurting. In January of this year, it broke again when my brother put his hand on it. I went back to the doctor to find out that it HAD been broken in September and that it had gotten infected from not being set. The bone had died and I had to have a bone graft and two screws put in it in April. It had gotten so bad that I spent 4 months trying to find a doctor that would operate on it.
