  • I was diagnosed with a fallen bladder. Can anyone tell me what they have gone through with this condition?i live in england and have had a fallen bladder too.I was running to the bathroom all the time to urinate with hardly any warning. My gynocologist inserted a pessary...a rubber stopper rather like a babys' pacifier.but itv wasnt very good. This march i had an operation to pull up my bladder and stitch it in place.i stayed awake and was only in the theatre 20 minutes.I had a spinal anaesthetic. It is a little bit better worth doing but not really good. However i am 55 and it probably works better on someone younger. There are different pessaries for different women if I was you i would ask the gynocologist to try one and see how it goes...let me know how you go on.

I'm 67 years old and I don't think surgury would be an option for me. I'm seeing a urologist and I'm going to ask him about a pessary since I've read about this device. I've also read that it usually doesn't work very well. I've also read about estrogen therapy but at my age I really don't know if that would be a good idea either. seems like I'm between a rock and a hard place. Just one more reminder that getting older really stinks! thanks again.........

It seems that using a tampon or a diaphram gives about the same result as a pessery. I tried a tampon and it does give me some relief so until I see the doctor again it's better than nothing. thanks again for your replies and I'll keep you posted
